HC Deb 13 November 1911 vol 31 cc12-3

asked the Postmaster-General if he will state the reasons which have guided his Department in placing Longford town and county under the northern district and in charge of Belfast surveyors, whereas the main line of railway service between Dublin and Sligo runs through Longford; whether he is aware that, as a result of this management from Belfast, the religious denomination of the postal service in Longford has been entirely changed within the past few years; and whether he will direct that Longford town and county is again placed in charge of the Dublin district, as was the case for many years?

Captain NORTON

The surveyor of the northern district of Ireland, who controls Longford, has his headquarters in Dublin.
