HC Deb 08 November 1911 vol 30 c1645
Mr. STEWART

asked the Prime Minister whether he has taken any steps to give effect to his statement, made on 20th June at the Imperial Conference, that, so far as the United Kingdom is concerned, if he continued to be responsible for the conduct of public affairs, he would make every effort possible to ensure that one or more of his colleagues should have an opportunitng of acceding to the wishes there expressed that Ministers should make themselves personally acquainted with all the self-governing parts of the Empire?

The PRIME MINISTER

It has not been possible so far, owing to the pressure of business here, to give effect to this suggestion, which was courteously put forward by all the representatives of the Dominions at the Conference, but it will not be lost sight of.
