HC Deb 29 May 1911 vol 26 cc700-1
Captain FABER

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether he has received any intelligence concerning the outbreak of sheep disease in Huntingdon; whether it has been ascertained what the disease is; and whether any steps are being taken to stop it?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Sir Edward Strachey)

This matter was discussed at a meeting of the Hunts Chamber of Agriculture, at which a representative of the Board was present. It was decided to appoint a local committee to investigate the outbreak. Their report will be submitted to the Board, who will assist in any way in their power. It is not at present possible to say what the disease is.

Captain FABER

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether the disease is spreading or not?

Sir E. STRACHEY

I have no information.
