HC Deb 25 May 1911 vol 26 cc444-5
Mr. HODGE

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether upon what date he can introduce a measure giving effect to the reports of the various departmental committees of inquiry which reported unanimously in favour of facilities being granted to the workmen employed in the iron and steel industries, as well as in certain other industries, such as lime and cement works and docks, to check the weights or measurements upon which their wages are based; and whether he is aware that a Bill containing the principle recommended received the assent of the House without a division in the Session of 1907?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Masterman)

As I stated in reply to a question on this subject on the 30th March, I hope to proceed with this Bill if opportunity is offered.
