HC Deb 23 May 1911 vol 26 c129
Mr. ADAMSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the firm of Mitchell and Muil, Aberdeen, which holds the contract for the supply of bread to the Aberdeen barracks, does not recognise the working conditions agreed to between the Master Bakers' Association and the Operatives' Union as regards hours and the number of apprentices; whether he is aware that the parish council has repeatedly refused to accept tenders from the firm because of its being an unfair firm; and whether he will have inquiry made, with a view to securing compliance with the Fair-Wage Clause?

Colonel SEELY

A representation on this subject has just been received from the local trades union, and inquiry will be made into the circumstances. The result of the investigation shall be communicated to the hon. Member.
