§ Mr. FELLasked the President of the Board of Trade, if he is aware that the new duties proposed by Holland to be put on goods imported into that country will materially affect English exports to that country; whether the Government is taking any steps to protect British interests; and what they propose to offer to Holland in these negotiations?
Mr. BUXTONA translation of the proposed new Customs Tariff of the Netherlands has been communicated to all the principal Chambers of Commerce and Trade Associations in order to elicit their views as to its probable effect on the trades of their districts. When the replies have been received His Majesty's Government will be in a position to decide as to what representations, if any, it may be desirable to make to the Dutch Government.
§ Mr. FELLMay I ask if as to these papers which have been sent to the Chambers of Commerce the right hon. Gentleman would lay them on the Table and in the Vote Office and send a copy to me?
