HC Deb 15 May 1911 vol 25 cc1655-6
Mr. STEWART

asked whether attention has been drawn to the encroachment of the sea on Northam Burrows; and whether the hon. Gentleman can hold out any hope that either the taking of pebbles from the foreshore between Westward Ho! and Hartland Point will be prohibited or a public inquiry will be held on the spot?

Mr. TENNANT

This matter has been engaging my attention for some time, and I am in communication with the local district councils with the view to limiting and controlling the removal of materials from the foreshore between Westward Ho and Hartland Point. I have every hope that a satisfactory settlement will be arrived at.
