HC Deb 01 May 1911 vol 25 cc6-7
Mr. KING

asked the Home Secretary when he intends to move the Second Reading of the Aliens (Prevention of Crimes) Bill?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I shall look for a suitable opportunity: but meanwhile the Bill, which has already been sent to a Grand Committee, gives full opportunities for amendment, and may perhaps be made to serve the purposes the Government have in view.

Mr. KING

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that a large number of Members would not have voted for the Second Reading of the Bill on Friday unless they had thought this Bill was also going to the Grand Committee?

Mr. CHURCHILL

It makes no difference.
