asked what is the number of officers and men in the Naval Reserve; and what provision exists for ensuring their effectiveness in the event of war?

Mr. McKENNA

The numbers of the home Royal Naval Reserve borne on the 1st March, 1911, were:—

Officers 1,776
Men 16,759

Both officers and men have to undergo periodical training on board His Majesty's ships, as laid down in the Royal Naval Reserve Regulations.
