HC Deb 15 March 1911 vol 22 c2218
Mr. MIDDLEMORE

asked whether, having regard to the importance it is to this country to maintain our great war shipbuilding yards in working order, he will give special consideration to the tender from the Thames Shipbuilding Company when the next contracts for large armoured ships are given out, especially as the building of the "Thunderer" has been a very great relief to the working classes of East London, and the tenders of the Thames Ironworks for large vessels compare very favourably with those of other large shipbuilding firms?

Mr. McKENNA

When the next shipbuilding contracts come to be given out, I can assure the hon. Member that due regard will be had to all relevant considerations.
