HC Deb 15 March 1911 vol 22 c2239
Mr. W. A. REDMOND

asked the Postmaster-General whether he has received any correspondence on the question of establishing a sub-post office at Beaghmore, county Tyrone; whether he is aware that the nearest post office is 3½ miles distant, and the service is confined to four days in the week; and whether he will have this matter investigated at once, and provide proper means for the daily delivery of letters to the residents of the district?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I have received applications for the establishment of a post office and a more frequent delivery of letters at Beaghmore; but I regret that I am unable to comply with them. The amount of business which would probably be transacted at such an office is very small; and the existing postal service costs much more than it brings in.
