§ Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKEMay I ask the right hon. Gentleman, that supposing there was a sum available for old age pensions, was that sum sufficient to meet the number of applications received during the past year?
§ Mr. McKENNAThe number of applications that we receive is very numerous; we can only award pensions according to the amount of money that we have at our disposal.
§ Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKEMay I press for an answer to my question: Did the sum available over the sum for staff, buildings, and children meet the applications you received for old age pensions?
§ Mr. McKENNANo, Sir. I received a great many more applications than I was able to meet.
