§ Mr. LLOYDasked the Under-Secretary of State for India, whether he was still unable to state the quantities of arms and ammunition imported into Maskat for the year 1909–10; and, if so, will he take immediate steps to procure such information?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Montagu)As stated in my answer of the 13th February, the quantity of arms and ammunition imported into Maskat in 1909–10 is not known, but their value is a sufficient indication of the bulk of the trade. Perhaps my hon. Friend will be able to deduce the information he requires by comparing the value of the trade with the corresponding value for the previous year.
§ Mr. MONTAGUI believe the information could be got by means of communication. The hon. Member knows the amount of arms and ammunition imported in the previous year, and also their value, and so by a sum in proportion can get the in formation he requires.
