HC Deb 02 March 1911 vol 22 c560
Mr. JAMES PARKER (for Mr. George Roberts)

asked if the Felingyffin farm, on the Gogerddan estate, for the compulsory hiring of which the Cardiganshire County Council has sought the Board's confirmation, was, at the time the county council opened up negotiations, incorporated with the Dwlgan farm, in the occupation of a Mr. Griffith; whether it was subsequently transferred to the daughter of Mr. Griffith; whether evidence has been adduced to show that this was intended to evade the provisions of the Small Holdings and Allotments Act; and whether further action is contemplated in the matter?

Sir E. STRACHEY

The Order of the County Council was made on 23rd August last. The Felingyffin farm had been let as a separate holding to Messrs. Griffith nearly two years before. The Board have no reason to believe that this was done with the object of evading the Act.
