HC Deb 02 March 1911 vol 22 c559
Mr. JAMES PARKER (for Mr. George Roberts)

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether his Department has caused experiments to be made with Nicholl's Black Scab Compound (Patent No. 4831); and, if so, whether such experiments were conducted in a manner approved by the patentee, and can he give the result thereof?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Sir Edward Strachey)

The Board have caused careful trials to be made of the compound referred to by the hon. Member, but it has failed to prevent wart disease from attacking the potatoes.
