HC Deb 28 June 1911 vol 27 c419
Sir CHARLES HENRY

asked the Prime Minister if, in view of the expenditure incurred and the amount of supervision necessary in connection with old age pensions and national insurance, he will consider the appointment of a Minister and the establishment of a separate Government Department responsible for the administration of the Old Age Pension Act and National Insurance when it is operative?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

As at present advised, I see no sufficient reason for the establishment of a new Department.
