HC Deb 13 June 1911 vol 26 cc1451-2
Mr. KING

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that, when the Motor Car Act, 1903, was passed, it was definitely stated that the Act would only be in force for two years, would then be followed by further legislation, and therefore no provision was made for removing from motor-driving licences any endorsements for offences under the Act; whether persons are still suffering from having licences endorsed years ago and have no opportunity to remove such endorsements;; and whether he will introduce a short Bill by which deserving motor drivers may have issued fresh licences free from record of a stain long since atoned?

The PRESIDENT of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. Burns)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. The point with which it deals will no doubt require consideration when the Motor Car Act, 1903, comes to be amended. I cannot make any announcement of amending legislation at the present time.
