HC Deb 17 July 1911 vol 28 c664
Mr. O'SHAUGHNESSY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he can say by whom will the calculation be made when estimating the value of board which an agricultural labourer receives with wages of 9s. a week from his employer, with the view to ascertain the amount of sickness benefit he will be entitled to for the first thirteen weeks of his illness?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The labourer's approved society would be responsible, in the first instance, for paying sickness benefit at the prescribed rate.
