HC Deb 17 July 1911 vol 28 cc663-4
Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can give an estimate of the number of persons who would be entitled under the National Insurance Bill, to medical, sanatorium and maternity benefits, but not entitled to sickness and disablement pay in the fifteenth year after the commencement of the Act; and what provisions exist in the Bill for dealing with these persons?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

No such estimate is at present available. As to the provisions made for such persons, they will in general either be in receipt of means in excess of £31 10s. or will be already in receipt of old age pensions, or will become entitled to sickness and disablement benefit on attaining the age of sixteen.
