§ Mr. CHURCHILLI can only answer this question as regards England and Wales. Troops were applied for by the mayor of Winchester in November, 1908, but were at once withdrawn when it was found that the disorder was of a trifling character; troops were supplied in aid of 668 the civil power in Glamorganshire in November last, and at Salford during the present month.
