HC Deb 17 July 1911 vol 28 c681
Mr. EUGENE WASON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the fact that a licensed grocer is charged licence duty on a full rental of £30, being entered separately on the valuation roll £18 for shop and cellar and £12 for house, when there is no communication whatever either by door, window, or anything else between the house and shop, and the house can be, and has been, let independently of the shop; and whether he will take steps to ensure a remission of duty on the house in these cases by amendment of Clause 4 of the Finance Bill?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

If the hon. Member will send me particulars of the case to which he refers, I will have inquiry made into it.
