§ Mr. JOHN ROCHEasked whether Martin Lydon was granted an old age pension by the local pension committee of Mountbellew, county Galway; and upon what grounds the Local Government Board deprived this man of it?
§ Mr. ILLINGWORTHThe case referred to is presumably that of Martin Lydon, of Annagh, Ballymacward, Ballinasloe. Lydon, who was in receipt of a pension of a shilling a week, raised the question that he was entitled to a full pension. The pension sub-committee allowed the question, but the Local Government Board were not satisfied that there had been a change in Lydon's circumstances since the pension of a shilling a week was awarded and they therefore dismissed the question, the result being that the original pension of a shilling a week remained unchanged.
