HC Deb 10 July 1911 vol 28 c27
Mr. DOUGLAS HALL

asked whether last year Regular officers posted for duty with the extra Special Reserve battalions were sent for three years' tour of duties with such battalions; whether, in consequence of the long period over which such duties were stated to extend, many married officers went to considerable expense in moving their establishments and families, in many cases from distant stations; whether an Army order has recently been published ordering such officers to rejoin their Regular units, although only about one year out of the three originally laid down has expired; and whether, in consequence of the expense to which married officers have been put, it is proposed to compensate them?

Colonel SEELY

The answer to the first and third portions of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative. As regards the second and fourth portions, I can only say at present that the matter is receiving careful consideration.
