HC Deb 20 February 1911 vol 21 c1535
Colonel LOCKWOOD

asked the Home Secretary if he will give a Return showing how many appointments have been made in his Department from the dissolution of the late Parliament to the meeting of the new Parliament; and whether he will give the names and qualifications of those appointed?

Mr. CHURCHILL

During the period referred to only two appointments were made in my Department. Both these appointments were to Class I. Clerkships, and the gentlemen appointed were allotted to the Home Office by the Civil Service Commissioners from the list of the successful candidates at the last Open Competitive examination. In these circumstances, the hon. and gallant Member will agree with me that no Return is necessary.
