§ Mr. FARRELLasked whether the Chief Secretary has received a copy of the resolution passed by the Granard Board of Guardians on 28th December last, protesting against any attempt to compel boards of guardians in Ireland to contribute the pauper relief, hitherto paid by them to old age pensioners, to the Imperial Treasury; and whether he will use his influence with the Treasury to abandon this proposal?
