asked the number and composition of the Small Arms Committee, the scope of its duties, and the number of meetings it had held during the year 1910?

Mr. HALDANE

The Small Arms Committee consists of a president, six members, one associate member, and a secretary. It is a purely consultative committee, appointed to assist the Master General of Ordnance by its opinions and' advice in dealing with questions of armament, of patterns, of inventions and designs in connection with small arms. Its deliberations are confined to such questions as are referred to it. The number of meetings held in 1910 was eleven.

They are called together whenever the President deems it necessary.
