HC Deb 14 February 1911 vol 21 c882
Mr. CHIOZZA MONEY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the character of certain recent railway accidents, he will consider the advisability of appointing a Select Committee to inquire into and report upon the conditions of labour of signalmen, engine drivers, and others directly charged with the safety of the travelling public?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Sydney Buxton)

I have not yet received the reports of the officers who held inquiries into three of the recent serious accidents that have occurred on railways, and I am not, therefore, in a position to make any statement on the subject.
