HC Deb 14 February 1911 vol 21 c871
Mr. GOLDMAN

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in the light of the recent agitation for a standard in bread, he proposes any legislative standards for bread and other food stuffs?

Mr. BURNS

The question of the comparative nutritive values of bread made from various classes of flour is now being investigated by the Foods Department of the Local Government Board, and at present I am not prepared to express an opinion on the question of standards.
