HC Deb 14 February 1911 vol 21 c868
Mr. BURGOYNE

asked whether the four German armoured ships of the 1910 programme have all been actually laid down; and, if so, on what dates and in what shipbuilding yards?

Mr. McKENNA

No official information has been received at the Admiralty with regard to the laying down of these vessels. I regret that I can do no more than to refer the hon. Member to such reports as have appeared in the German Press, according to which the "Ersatz Aegir" was laid down at Schichau, Dantzig, in July, 1910; the "Ersatz Hagen" at Howaldts Yard, Kiel, in November, 1910; and Cruiser "J" at Blohm and Voss, on 4th February, 1911. I have not yet observed any statement with regard to the "Ersatz Odin."
