HC Deb 14 February 1911 vol 21 cc867-8
Earl WINTERTON (for Lord Charles Beresford)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, whether he will state to the House the number and calibres of anti-torpedo guns of ships of the Dreadnought class belonging to the French, German, Italian, American, and Japanese navies, the calibres and number of anti-torpedo guns in British ships of the Dreadnought class; and whether it is intended to increase the size of the anti-torpedo guns of British ships of the Dreadnought class now building.

Mr. McKENNA

All the information I am in a position to give to the Noble Lord is contained on pages 4 to 14 of the Return standing in the name of the late Sir Charles Dilke. With regard to the last part of the question, I regret to have to reply that it would not be in the public interest to state in advance what the armament of future ships will be.
