HC Deb 09 February 1911 vol 21 c449
Mr. HOARE

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, what was the amount collected from the public for the national memorial to Her late Majesty Queen Victoria; how much of this sum has now been expended; and whether the items of expenditure are shown in the published accounts of the Office of Works?

The TREASURER of the HOUSEHOLD (Mr. Dudley Ward)

I regret that this is a matter on which I am unable to give the hon. Member any information. The funds of the Queen Victoria Memorial are in the hands of the Lord Mayor, and, consequently, there is no record of expenditure in the published accounts of the Office of Works.
