HC Deb 09 February 1911 vol 21 cc429-30
Mr. O'SHAUGHNESSY

asked the Chief Secretary if he can say what is the cause of delay in completing the sale of the estate of George Caulfield, at Pallaskenry, in the county of Limerick, the tenants having signed their agreements to purchase in November, 1905; and if he can now say when the sale of the estate will be completed?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estate Commissioners inform me that the agreements signed by the owner and the tenants for the sale of the holdings on this estate under the Irish Land Act, 1903, were lodged with the Land Commission in February, 1906. The estate is on the principal Register of direct sales (all cash). Having regard to the claims of estates in priority, the Commissioners are not at present in a position to say when the turn of this estate will be reached, but it will be dealt with in order of priority with as little delay as practicable.
