HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 c2531
Sir CLEMENT KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the officials who distributed Form IV. were paid a commission on the distribution and a further commission on the form being returned filled up; and, if so, will he state the amount of commission so paid?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Lloyd George)

The officers who distributed Form IV. in England and Wales were paid for the work at the rate of 2d. for each hereditament. A further payment of 2d. or 3½d. per hereditament (according to the character of the work), was made for the collection of the completed forms.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Will the right hon. Gentleman give us the total sum expended in commission? I have asked for it.

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I do not see anything in the question about the actual amount. I will give it to the hon. Member if he desires to have it.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

It is there.
