HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 cc2536-7
Mr. HODGE

asked whether any and, if so, what punishment was meted out to the soldier who refused to shoot at the people when ordered on the occasion of the recent industrial disturbances at Llanelly?

Colonel SEELY

No soldier refused to shoot on the occasion in question.

Mr. W. THORNE

May I ask whether any punishment has been meted out to Major Stewart, who ordered the men to shoot?

Colonel SEELY

That does not arise out of the question. I am asked what punishment was meted out to the soldier who refused to shoot, and I say there was no such soldier.

Mr. W. THORNE

I want to know what punishment is to be meted out to the man who ordered the soldiers to shoot?
