HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 c2530
Mr. PONSONBY

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the process of cleaning and scraping the varnish off the oak panelling and carving, which has been successfully carried out in the dining-rooms and passages, will be continued in all parts of the building, more especially in the Chamber itself?

The TREASURER of the HOUSEHOLD (Mr. Dudley Ward)

This is a matter which has not escaped attention; and the work is being carried out as opportunities and funds permit.
