HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 c2529
Mr. WEBB

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that the Crown is asking 30s. a perch for land required by the Gloucestershire Education Committee for the purpose of erecting a council school at Five Acres, near Coleford, Gloucestershire; and whether, in view of the fact that the education committee and the local managers consider the price excessive and likely to influence the price asked in future by private owners for land for school buildings, he will use his influence with the Crown authorities towards securing a lower price?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Pease)

I am afraid that this is not a matter in which I could properly intervene.
