HC Deb 04 December 1911 vol 32 c1015
Mr. DORIS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Castlebar Urban Council has recently called the attention of the Board to the insufficient live-stock traffic accommodation provided at Castlebar railway station and pointing out that on the occasion of the last pig fair on the 17th November, when over 2,900 pigs were railed, sellers were kept waiting from 6 to 10 o'clock a.m. before they could rail their pigs and were compelled to lift the animals bodily from the line into the waggons owing to the lack of a proper loading bank or stage; and will he take steps to secure that the Midland Great Western of Ireland Railway Company shall provide the necessary additional accommodation?

Mr. J. M. ROBERTSON

I have invited the observations of the railway company on this matter, and will communicate with the hon. Member on receipt of their reply.
