HC Deb 14 August 1911 vol 29 cc1558-9
Colonel YATE

asked whether steps are being taken or will be taken to give effect to the proposal that has been submitted to the War Office to create an organisation, such as an Army benefit society, to be acknowledged as an approved society under the meaning of the Insurance Bill, which soldiers may join on leaving the Service to secure for themselves employment and provision against sickness, etc., on their return to civil life?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Colonel Seely)

It is not proposed to create an organisation on the lines suggested in the question.
