HC Deb 11 April 1911 vol 24 c217
Captain BARING

asked the Under Secretary of State for War if he will say what is the dress prescribed by the King's Regulations for soldiers appearing for trial at assizes or quarter sessions; and whether, in view of the contradictory instructions recently given by a judge and presiding magistrate respectively, he will take steps to ensure that a uniform practice is observed in the future?

Colonel SEELY

There is no special provision in the King's Regulations regarding the dress to be worn on the occasions mentioned. The point raised in the latter part of the question is now under consideration.
