HC Deb 11 April 1911 vol 24 c219
Major HENDERSON

asked whether he will at Tidworth and other military stations where insufficient accommodation is available for married officers and their families, which debar them from having medical attendance provided at the public expense, endeavour to secure for them the benefit of having attendance from civil medical practitioners at the public expense in those localities in which they are compelled to reside?

Colonel SEELY

I am unable at present to add anything to my reply of the 5th instant on this subject, but, as I have before stated, the matter is receiving consideration.

Major HENDERSON

Does the right hon. Gentleman admit that the injustice does occur, and will he give us an assurance that he will use his influence with the Treasury?

Colonel SEELY

No doubt it is a hard case, but I cannot now give any undertaking on the point, but I will certainly make inquiry into the matter with a view to seeing whether the hardship can be mitigated.

Major HENDERSON

Will the right hon. Gentleman state what is the amount involved?

Colonel SEELY

I could not say offhand. I will inquire.
