§ Mr. O'SHEEasked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that a tenant has been evicted within the past year on the Thompson-Orpin estate, Balluduff, county Waterford; that two other evictions are pending; and that nearly all the tenants on this estate sent a memorial to the Estates Commissioners a year ago point-out that it comes within the definition of congested townlands under the Irish Land Act of 1909, and asking the Estates Commissioners to take steps under that Act to compel a sale; whether the Estates Commissioners have considered this memorial; whether they propose to make a further delay before dealing with it; and whether they will now direct one of their inspectors to investigate the circumstances of the estate under the powers conferred on them by the Act of 1909?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners have no information as to evictions on this estate. They received the memorial referred to and have the matter at present under consideration.
