HC Deb 05 April 1911 vol 23 c2205
Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Postmaster-General whether he had considered the application of the district council of Southall, Middlesex, for an improved postal service, especially in respect of an evening delivery, and if he can hold out any hope of granting the same?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Herbert Samuel)

I have considered the application of the urban district council of Southall for an additional delivery of letters. The amount of correspondence delivered in Southall is at present far below that which is considered to warrant the establishment of a fifth delivery, and I can hold out little hope of being able to grant the request for some time to come. The council has already been informed to this effect.
