HC Deb 05 April 1911 vol 23 cc2205-6
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked whether tenders are not asked for on the occasion of the expiry of a mail contract; and, if so, what is the reason?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

It is the usual practice to invite tenders in such cases, but occasionally it is found necessary or expedient to make an exception. If the hon. Member will let me know what exceptional case he has in mind I will inform him of the reason.
