§ Mr. KERR-SMILEYasked what is the amount of the Imperial charges in the United Kingdom in the years 1886 and 1910; and whether it is the intention of the Government in the forthcoming Home Rule Bill to follow the proposal in Mr. Gladstone's Home Rule Bill of 1886, and levy one-seventeenth part of the Imperial charges in Ireland?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThere are difficulties in furnishing the figures for the year 1886. For the year 1884–5 the Imperial charges amounted to £63,753,000. The corresponding figure for the year 1909–10 is £90,646,000. It would obviously be premature to reply to the last part of the question.
