HC Deb 05 April 1911 vol 23 cc2185-6
Mr. NEEDHAM

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he would cause a Return to be laid before this House stating the names and nationality of neutral vessels which were captured by the belligerents during the Franco-Chinese War and the Russo-Japanese War, stating the nature of the cargoes carried and the results of such belligerent action?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

I will lay a return of the captures which were reported to the Foreign Office.

Mr. NEEDHAM

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, whether he will cause a Return to be laid before this House of the neutral vessels which were captured during the Russo-Japanese War, and subsequently adjudicated upon by Russian and Japanese prize courts, stating the nationality of the ships, the nature of the cargoes carried, and the decisions of the prize courts?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

Arrangements have already been made by the First Lord of the Admiralty for the publication of the decisions of the Russian and Japanese Prize Courts arising out of the Russo-Japanese war, and it is hoped that they will be issued during the coming summer. The work is of considerable magnitude, and will be contained in two volumes.
