Captain CLAYasked the Under-Secretary for War if he was aware that a Foreign-made roofing tile is being used in the building of the Drill Hall at Tunbridge Wells when, since the passing of the Patents Act, a similar tile of equal quality and cheaper price is being manufactured in this country; and whether he would give instructions that where the British article is as good and as cheap as the foreign, the British article should have the preference, thereby encouraging manufacturers to take advantage of the Parents Act and give increased employment at home?
§ Colonel SEELYThis matter rests entirely with the County Association, with whose discretion the Army Council is not prepared to interfere.
