§ Mr. FLEMINGasked the President of the Local Government Board when the joint committee on the financial relations between burghs and counties is likely to conclude its sittings?
§ Mr. J. H. LEWISI am informed that the joint committee has been sitting regularly since 13th March last. Counsel are being heard on behalf of the principal interests involved, and will be responsible for the extent of the evidence which they bring forward. It is not at present possible to form any approximate estimate as to the date when the committee is likely to conclude its sittings. This must of necessity largely depend upon the time occupied by evidence of this class.
