HC Deb 21 May 1910 vol 116 c388
79. Mr. C. EDWARDS

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether he will include in the terms of reference of the Insurance Committee the question of increase of salary to superintendents and assistant superintendents as well as agents of the insurance companies?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The Committee to inquire into Industrial Life Assurance has now been appointed, and I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given on the 5th May by my right hon. Friend to the question addressed to the Prime Minister by the Noble Lord the Member for Horsham and Worthing, in which the composition of the Committee and the terms of reference were stated. The terms of reference would certainly not exclude the consideration of salaries of the officers mentioned in the question, and if an application is received from any of the associations which represent them to be allowed to give evidence, such application will be submitted to the Committee.
