HC Deb 21 May 1910 vol 116 c353
8. Commander Sir E. NICOLL

asked whether, following upon the introduction of preferential treatment as a definite factor in the relationship between Great Britain and the Overseas Dominions, His Majesty's Government will consider the advisability of making representations to the Government of India that some measure of reconstruction of Indian trade policy should be adopted so that British manufactured goods entering India might enjoy reasonable preference as against competing foreign nations?

Mr. FISHER

The Government of India have been made aware of the preferential treatment established by His Majesty's Government, and will consider the bearing of this on their present tariff arrangements.
