HC Deb 29 March 1910 vol 15 cc1158-9
Mr. ARTHUR LYNCH

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he has been notified of any complaints that certain labourers' cottages in the Kilrush Union have not been completely built according to specifications; and whether he will accede to a desire expressed by the Land and Labour Association of Killimer to have these cottages inspected by an inspector of the Local Government Board?

The CHIEF SECRETARY for IRELAND (Mr. Birrell)

The Local Government Board have only received one complaint of the kind, and it only affects a single cottage. They sent it to the district council, who referred it to their engineer. The Board know nothing of the request attributed to the Land and Labour Association of Killimer, but they anticipate that the cottages in this district will soon reach the stage at which inspection by one of the Board's architects usually takes place.
